Tao 2.0: A New Era for Tao Digital

Finding your insurance brokers target audience

Having recently (finally) moved into our beautiful new office at The Wellsprings, we thought it was about time we updated you as to what we’ve been up to here at team Tao.

In short, our past year has seen a new office, new team members, unique challenges, a change in approaches and the 8th anniversary of Tao Digital Marketing! With this growth, we decided it was time for a change, and upgrade, to our surroundings, which is why we’ve decided to call our new office home (which Matt is labelling the home of ‘Tao 2.0’).

New team members

Almost a year ago now, Hugh joined the team. With little experience in the role, but educated with a first class degree, he took to content writing and learning all things SEO under the watchful eyes of Charlotte and Matt. Having learned a lot from the team, he’s now thriving in content writing/production and getting involved in all aspects of marketing. He’s also really funny (I’m biased because I - Hugh - am writing this).

Next up was Jemma, our talented (and hilarious) account manager who joined us in April. Jemma came to us with a strong background in sales and customer communications, and her insights have been crucial to improving our client comms, something which we aim to continue working on.

Also shoutout to Matt and Charlotte who aren’t new but are still keeping things going with their excellent work.

8 Years of Tao

Team Collage

May the 4th marked 8 years of Tao Digital. An achievement we’re so proud of as a close-knit team who love to provide SEO and digital marketing strategies and solutions to a range of local and national businesses.

Matt started Tao with the inspiration of its namesake ‘Taoism,’ an ancient Chinese tradition which focuses on the ‘way’ or ‘path.’ In our case, we’ve always seen Tao as ‘the path to online success,’ and that’s why our approaches and strategies are constantly evolving to provide this to all of our valued clients.

Here’s to many more years of Tao, a journey we hope you’ll continue to share with us!

Our old office and why we wanted a change

As mentioned, we felt it was time to say goodbye to our old office after just over 5 years there. It was hard to say goodbye, though all good things must come to an end, especially when you want to move forward. We loved our old office, but decided to seek something new for a few reasons:

  • To have a bigger variety of spaces for hosting clients and facilitating the versatile work we do.
  • For a more collaborative environment, promoting teamwork.
  • To move closer to the train station, becoming more accessible for clients and team members as we look to grow.
  • To upgrade to a more modern office, whilst maintaining space for growth.
  • To access the state-of-the-art coffee machine in the Wellsprings.

Whilst our old office served its purpose valiantly for a long time, we sure are glad to have upgraded…

Our new office (and what’s great about it)

The Wellsprings, our new home, is the perfect space for innovation for Bolton's up-and-coming creatively focused businesses. The building itself is surrounded by stunning architecture, a view which inspired Matt to choose our swanky second floor office.

We’ve spent many exciting months (and more) planning the layout, deciding who’s going to sit where (how far apart we should put Matt and Charlotte), and which of our clients we’re going to welcome into our bookable meeting room first.

The Wellsprings also offers a great opportunity for us to work collaboratively, share work with our clients in a professional environment, and even host events.

In fact, we’ve spoken about the prospect of organising the Wellsprings’ first business over beers!

Bolton Council and the Wellsprings are also eager to work alongside us to push tech innovation in Bolton forward, an exciting prospect for all locals.

This is an excellent networking opportunity for us as a small business to gain more recognition and continue to grow, whilst boosting the local economy at the same time!

To finish, I’ve asked each current team member to give me their favourite thing about the new office:

  • Matt: The fact that there’s a shower in the basement.
  • Charlotte: A much more professional, comfortable environment to work in and bring in clients.
  • Hugh: Now only has to walk 5 minutes from the train station instead of 10 (and free coffee).
  • Jemma: Everything!
